What is this tool?

Just tap along with a song and this tool calculates its BPM (tempo) automatically. You can then open the metronome at that exact BPM.

When it helps

  • Find a song's tempo

Measure the BPM of any track you want to transcribe or play along with — no stopwatch needed.

  • Set tempo before practicing

Tap along to the original recording, then launch the metronome at that tempo and start practicing.

  • Lock in a band tempo

Agree on a tempo with your bandmates based on how the song actually feels, right on the spot.

How to use

  1. 1 Tap the big circle in the middle — or press the spacebar — in time with the music
  2. 2 After 3–4 taps the BPM appears
  3. 3 Use − / + in the dock to fine-tune the value
  4. 4 Tap Open Metronome to jump straight into practice at that BPM
